玛丽厄玛•格雷厄姆博士,美国堪萨斯大学杰出教授、美国艺术与人文基金资助项目“黑人创作史中心”创立人,主要从事美国非裔文学研究、性属研究、流散族裔与跨国文化理论与批评等,出版著作十部,近期代表作有《我灵魂栖息的房子:玛格丽特•沃克传》(牛津大学出版社,2013)、《剑桥美国非裔文学史》(与Jerry Ward教授合编,2011)、《剑桥美国非裔小说指南》(2004)、《鲜血浇灌的原野:玛格丽特•沃克评论》(2001)等。曾十次获美国人文基金资助(计150余万美元),获美国文学协会特纳杰出学术贡献奖等。

Title: The Enduring Legacy of African American Poetry
Moderated by Prof Luo Lianggong
Prof Lauri Ramey is founding Director of the Center for Contemporary Poetry and Poetics and Professor of African American Literature and Culture, American Studies and Creative Writing at California State University, Los Angeles. Her books include Slave Songs and the Birth of African American Poetry (Palgrave Macmillan, 2008, 2010), The Heritage Series of Black Poetry, 1962-1975 (Ashgate, 2008, 2013), Black British Writing with R. Victoria Arana (Palgrave Macmillan, 2004, 2009) and a two-volume anthology set of formally innovative African American poetry with Aldon Lynn Nielsen, Every Goodbye Ain’t Gone (University of Alabama Press, 2008) and What I Say (University of Alabama Press, 2014). Her current book in progress is A History of African American Poetry (Cambridge University Press).

Some Ends of an Endless Quest
(Moderated by Prof Zhu Weihong)
Dr. Jerry W. Ward obtained his Ph.D. in literature at University of Virginia, was 2002-2012 Distinguished Professor of Dillard University, New Orleans, and is now teaching at Central China Normal University as Chinese Ministry of Education-sponsored “Distinguished Overseas Professors Project” professor. Prof. Ward is one of the leading scholars in African American literature and literary theory and criticism, and is recognized as one of the leading experts on Richard Wright. He is author or editor of the books like: The Cambridge History of African American Literature (2010), Black Southern Voices (1992), Redefining American Literary History (1990), Trouble the Water: 250 years of African American Poetry (1997), and Richard Wright Encyclopedia. He is also a member of the editorial board of such journals as African American Review, Literary Griot, and Mississippi Quarterly.

The Nature and Importance of the Black Chicago Renaissance

Dr. Steven C. Tracy is Professor of Afro-American Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He has authored, edited, co-edited, or provided introductions for thirty books, provided over seventy contributions to book publications edited by others, written over fifty CD liner notes, and taught, lectured, and presented papers in the US, Canada, England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Israel, and China. A singer-harmonica player, he has opened for B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Canned Heat, and others, and recorded with blues groups and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. His Writers of the Black Chicago Renaissance was published by the University of Illinois Press in 2011. Touched by the Blues: Futuristic Jungleism, Ragmentation, and the Bluing of American Literature, is at press under contract. He is currently on the Fulbright Senior Specialist roster, and has been appointed the 2011-2014 “ChuTian Scholars” professorship, the most prestigious academic position sponsored by Hubei Province, China.

An African American Anthology for the New Century

Prof Gene A. Jarrett is 2011-2014 Chair of the Department of English and currently Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Boston University. Prof Jarrett specializes in African American literary history from the 18th century to the present; U.S. literary history between the Civil War and World War II; race, ethnic, and cultural studies; and theories of literature, aesthetics, and intellectual historiography. He has authored two books, including Representing the Race: A New Political History of African American Literature (New York UP, 2011) and Deans and Truants: Race and Realism in African American Literature (U of Pennsylvania P, 2007), and edited many books including The Wiley-Blackwell Anthology of African American Literature, Volume 1: 1746 to 1920 and Volume 2: 1920 to the Present (Wiley-Blackwell, 2014), A Companion to African American Literature (Wiley-Blackwell, 2010, 2013), The New Negro: Readings on Race, Representation, and African American Culture (Princeton UP, 2007); African American Literature beyond Race: An Alternative Reader (co-edited with Henry Louis Gates, Jr., New York UP, 2006). He has been awarded in 2010 a Walter Jackson Bate Fellowship in English Literature at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and in 2014 and ACLS Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies.

郭英剑教授,中央民族大学太阳成集团tyc33455院长、教授、博士生导师。哈佛大学英语系高级研究学者、宾夕法尼亚大学英语系博士后、南京大学英语系博士。郭英剑教授是教育部高等学校英语类专业教学指导委员会委员、享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家、国家首批“新世纪百千万人才工程”国家级人选、全国模范教师。北京市海淀区政协委员。主要从事英美文学、文学翻译、英语教育与高等教育研究。郭英剑教授主要著(译)作有《重申解构主义》(中国社科出版社,1998年)、《赛珍珠评论集》(漓江出版社,1999年)、《全球化与文化》(南京大学出版社,2002年)、《全球化语境下的文学研究》(外研社,2011年)等。
