| The Translation Department was set up in 2010. Currently the Department has an annual enrollment of around 60 students (2 classes) majoring in translation (undergraduate program). The Department has a strong faculty, which now consists of 17 teachers, among which 4 are professors, 2 are doctoral supervisors, 5 are associate professors, 6 are doctors, and 5 are PhD candidates. Besides, the Department regularly engages some renowned professors to teach and give lectures. The Translation Department boasts a teaching staff of high quality who have rich teaching experience, thus ensuring distinctive characteristics of teaching and good teaching results. The core course of the Department “Theory and Techniques of Translation” is honored as a Quality Course at provincial level (2007— ). The Department has a strong team in scientific research, which takes the lead in such research areas as translation and philosophy, comparison between English and Chinese and translation, translation of Chinese classics, culture and translation, etc. The Translation Department has rich library resources, advanced audio-visual teaching facilities, and translation teaching and training facilities. Now it has a CAT lab, a simultaneous interpretation conference room, and a simultaneous interpretation teaching/training lab. |
